What is Ballot Access?

Ballot access is the legal right for a political party or candidate to appear on voters’ ballots in elections. For candidates that bend the knee to major parties like the Republicans and Democrats, this access is virtually guaranteed. However, for unaffiliated candidates unwilling to get on all fours for the establishment, gaining ballot access is an uphill battle. Each state has different, often complex, requirements—ranging from gathering tens of thousands of signatures to paying exorbitant fees. And to make it worse, oftentimes when we start making progress in a state, they will change the rules just enough to further complicate the process for us, or they’ll begin sueing insurgent candidates off the ballot.

Why Ballot Access Matters?

Ballot access is about more than just being on the ballot; it’s about ensuring that voters have a real choice. Without access, millions of Americans are forced to choose between two candidates who may not represent their views. By securing ballot access, we challenge the status quo, give voice to the millions who are tired of politics as usual, and provide a platform for ideas that promote individual liberty, economic freedom, and peace.

The cherry 🍒  on top: it’ll put fear in establishment candidates.

How You Can Make a Difference?

Fighting for ballot access is a costly and time-consuming process. We rely on volunteers, legal challenges, and grassroots efforts to meet the various state requirements. But none of this is possible without financial support from people like you.
